Where are we based?
Based in beautiful Aberdeenshire in the North East of Scotland, Eco-Essentials is situated 15 miles north of Aberdeen on the outskirts of the village of Kemnay beside the Fetternear Estate overlooking the hills of Garioch and the Bennachie Range with Inverurie & Kintore close by.
What do you sell?
Eco-Essentials is a UK & EU wide online retailer of chemical-free products made from non-toxic natural and organic ingredients that are safe and unlikely to cause harm to humans or the environment. We are constantly reviewing ingredients to reduce the environmental impact of the products we stock and prefer to stock UK manufactured products to reduce road miles. You won't find any synthetic fragrances, SLS, synthetic preservatives (parabens) or petrochemicals in our catalogue. We are stockists of a wide range of Fragrance-Free products for the increasing numbers of people allergic or sensitive to fragrance and chemicals or eczema and psoriasis sufferers.

About our Founder:
The founder of Eco-Essentials suffers from debilitating migraines caused by Multiple Chemical Sensitivity (MCS). Exposure to synthetic fragrances and chemicals can make life unbearable for people with MCS who feel like they have been pushed to the margins of society with a terribly disabling, unrecognised and misunderstood health condition. Life is difficult when your only safe place is your home and many sufferers become more or less housebound. Unless you have or know someone with MCS, then you will be blissfully unaware how the condition restricts daily life and pressurises all relationships with friends, family & employers. Multiple Chemical Sensitivity sufferers need to avoid chemical exposures in order to stay well and this is how Eco-Essentials began. When you are faced with the choice of working with people and things that "smell" and make you unable to function or being signed off sick indefinitely you have to take a reality check. Eco-Essentials provides a chemical-free environment and employment opportunity for MCS sufferers and exists to promote a chemical-free lifestyle for everyone.
Chemically sensitive people believe they are the "Canaries in the Coalmine" and that the general population has no idea the damage these persistent chemicals are causing to human and animal species.
Eco-Essentials cares about the environment:
The founder of Eco-Essentials is an environmentalist who has campaigned to save the Scottish Red Squirrel (Sciurus vulgaris) locally and the Menie Sand Dunes SSSI at Balmedie from Celebrity Developer Billionaire (?) Donald Trump. She was successful in stopping tree felling operations in an area of red squirrel habitat where there was an active planning application for housing development on designated countryside. Tree felling licenses are separate to planning permission and it just in not on when greedy wanabee developers with their fingers in too many pies mark out trees for felling which appear to conicide with proposed access roads and housing plots, especially when the trees are not of the species listed in the tree felling license. Score - Miss Environmentalist 1, Fetternear Estate 0. Hopefully that success will mean the rest of the plans to destroy special habitats, including valued local amentity areas, SINS & Ancient Woodland get put in the shredder where they belong. £9m would be a tidy profit but I cannot put a price on what would be lost as it is priceless. The drain on public finances from a loss making swimming pool is neither acceptable or sustainable, especially when we are all expected to pay more for less. Public money is for the people, not for the benefit of developers.
