The Soap Nut Tree produces fruit/ berries which are contained inside the natural nut shells. The shells (soap nuts) release Saponin (used to make soap) when they come into contact with warm water. The soapods are inactive in cold water so your rinse cyle won't be soapy.
We've been using soap nuts for a while now and they are completely perfume-free and clean our laundry very well.
Just pop 6-8 soapods shells into the cotton bag provided (experiment with less depnding on how dirty your clothes are)

Hey presto - sustainably washed clothes, doesn't cost the earth!
You can add essential oils or your favourite perfume to the bag to add a luxurious scent of your choice.
The soap nut shells can be used for at least three washes.
